Oban Mini Rugby Festival
Oban Lorne RFC recently hosted the latest Argyll & Bute mini rugby tournament at Glencruitten last Sunday 28 March.
The day which included teams from all over Argyll ( Arrochar, Cowal, Mid Argyll, Mull, Oban & Taynuilt) and also a visiting Hamilton p7 team, were joined by Glasgow Warrior professional players John Welsh, Peter Murchie, and Mark MacMillan who were on hand to give the players some coaching and to sign autographs.
The primary 6/7 tournament was won by Hamilton who won all of their games but were still made to for their points with some superb performances from the other teams involved.
The primary 4/5 tournament was used more for the players development rather than a competition, but still showed some good rugby from the players which was a joy for the supporters and coaches to watch.
Special thanks goes to all the local coaches running the teams, Hamilton RFC for their participation in the tournament, Oban Lorne RFC for hosting the event and of course the Glasgow Warrior players in attendance.
