Pat Cadzow becomes the first Oban player to be recognised
at District level, chosen for Edinburgh in their match versus

Mini Rugby starts at Oban Lorne RFC under the guidance

Adam Robson, R.S.U. President in 1984, Scotland's Grand
Slam year, leads a President's XV in a match against Oban
Lorne. President's XV includes ex-internationalists J. Frame,
K. Houston, D. Chisholm, G. Young, F.Laidlaw, and B.Simmers
and run out winners 48-14. |

Oban Lorne celebrate their Silver Jubilee with a guest
appearance at Edinburgh Borderers Sevens. The home team are
captained by Andy Irvine. In a match versus and Argyll Select,
with players from Kintyre, Cowal, Bute, Mid Argyll and Mull,
they win 26-6 and a Silver Jubilee Dinner is held. The season
ends with a match versus the Co-optimists whose team includes
internationalist Matt Duncan and Norrie Rowan. |

Oban Lorne win Lenzie Sevens, the first time the club
has won such an event., beating Cartha Queens Park, Edinburgh
University, Hillhead/Jordanhill, and Dumfries. |

GDRU. Teams from Oban, Tobermory, Lochaber, Kinlochleven, Lochgilphead and

Lorne Ladies formed with Captain Lindsay MacDonald and Coach Andy MacDougall in
charge. They won the Islay Beach Tournament Ladies section and the Best West
Highland Ladies Team at the Mull 7's in their first

SHE Club of the Month. This was awarded for increasing the number of Youth Rugby teams and for successful team performances at all levels of the club. |

Obermory U-15 reached the Final of the Bell Lawrie Schools Bowl, losing 13-0 to Earlston. The combined Oban/Tobermory High School team had a tremendous cup run beating Boroghmuir and Jedburgh on the way to the final. |
